Brent Resse has been into lowriding for over 15 years. He is well known in the lowrider circuit for building some of the cleanest lowriders in the industry. His cars have been featured in Lowrider and in the special "Best of Cadillacs" issue. Brent is also part of the elite crew at Bowtie Connections, in Artesia, California.
His '62 Impala was purchased on the Internet and, after fully inspecting the car, Brent decided to build this lowrider to look like it could have been purchased in 1962 with an upgraded lowrider package from a GM dealer. That's one of the reasons he decided to build the car to GM specs.
Brent grabbed a team of builders who could put his ideas into the trunk. The designer of the setup was Mike Ishiki, from OG Gate Service, who took the plans and designed it so everything could flow together. Big Frank took the rest of the ideas and built the pump and battery racks. He put the setup together and wired it up while Onrie Ruiz, from Hardtime Hardlines, put the finishing touches on it with custom-bent tubing. The setup includes four NOS Eemcos with Strato power pump heads. The original pumps were purchased in Florida from an army surplus store for over $2,500 each. The setup also includes four Adex dumps that are also hard-lined and six Delco batteries with Tar Top covers, which give this setup that classic look. The A6 oxygen tank was retrofitted by Spanky in Salt Lake City, and sports a custom billet cap with an original GM logo.
The trunk also features a sound system that was built to perfection by OG Gordo from 562 Kustoms in Paramount, California. The sound system is controlled by an Alpine head unit that's hidden in the glove compartment and is powered by three Rockford Fosgate amps, which are transmitted with four JBL 6x9s and Rockford Fosgate woofers. If you want to see more of Brent's brand-new Impala and its other features, keep an eye out for an upcoming issue containing a lot more detail and a whole lot more pages.
