We caught up with Terry "Tezo" Whitaker, of Moreno Valley, California, who always loved the Dr. Seuss stories when he was growing up. With that in mind, he thought this would be a good theme for his '87 Regal.
The double-pump G-body was put together by his partner Steven in the backyard of his house. This Regal was built to clown the competition because nobody expected it to do all that much. Since they finished the car, they opened up Da Hot Spot in San Bernardino, California, and have been lifting and painting cars full time, using this car as their sample marketing tool. It's the shop's flagship and was designed to show off the work that together they are able to do.
"The Grinch" was completely hooked up in two months, from the floor up. The car received 8-inch strokes for the front and 22-inch ones in the rear to allow the car to lock up when it was time to nose up. With two gate-style pumps to the nose, Terry is able to get on the switch and get his ride going, using 16 31-series batteries to power up his hydraulic system. All of this equipment in the trunk allows Terry to dish out some back bumper action whenever needed.
Not too bad of an entrepreneurial-type business-from the backyard and driveway to your very own shop. Sometimes they even make house calls. The Grinch may have stolen Christmas, but he also lays back bumper in Whoville!
